Classic plots and routines are amazing, but most of them require us to get into “performance mode” where we move like a magic guy and talk like a magic guy.

Getting into “performance mode” is very crucial if we are putting on a show. Like… In a theater or something. At least at a paying gig where everyone knows we are supposed to put on this persona and get all “performy”

I like doing magic tricks whenever I want to whoever happens to be next to me, but as soon as I get into “performance mode”, I just feel so extra.

I feel like someone doing adlibs to a birthday song when everyone else is just singing a normal human-being.

The routines shared in ITOASU won’t require you to get into “performance mode” to perform them.

The procedure and choreography of these routines are super chill and low-key that you can perform them anytime to anyone without feeling like THAT magic guy.

  • Introduction

  • Out of Her World - Fast-paced variation on Out of the World plot where you only use half the deck to perform to avoid the typical boring procedure. You can also show the deck is mixed before, during, and after the routine

  • Shirotsuke - A variation on Max Maven’s Kurotsuke where you are able to tell 1 “lying bastard” among 3 other truth-tellers. The routine ends with a SUPER VISUAL kicker ending to get the crowd fired up

  • Might as Well - As Think Ngyuen says, “this is like Biddle Trick on acid!”

  • Glycine Poker - The magician has 4 cards in his/her hands. A spectator chooses any card on his/her own, and that card is the last card needed to finish the magician’s Royal Flush

  • Reality Used to be Plastic - Turn a piece of plastic visually into the spectator’s thought of card

  • Card Explosion - The magician flicks a card and the card explodes into 4 coins

  • Red Beatles - Extremely casual variation on Biddle Trick

  • Closing Thoughts
